Job: Avian & Exotics Veterinarian Wanted
Description: Progressive and growing exotics practice in Pasadena, CA, needs a full or part-time veterinarian. We see 100% exotics: approximately 75-80% rabbits and other small mammals, 10-15% reptiles, and about 5-10% pot-bellied pigs, wildlife and pet birds. We have digital radiology, ultrasound, well-trained technicians, and the best dental equipment needed for rabbit and rodent dental care. We practice high quality medicine with a great deal of compassion, and our personalized care has helped us develop a loyal and devoted clientele. The person were looking for should have a passion for exotic pets, enjoy working with owners to provide excellent care, and have an interest in growing and learning. Exotics experience preferred, but were willing to train. This position is ideal for a veterinarian interested in developing the avian aspect of the practice.

Job: Exotic Pet Health Care Supervisor

This position is an essential support position for the clinical veterinarian. The successful candidate will ensures the well-being of patients throughout the hospital by developing and instituting standards of veterinary care for exotic pet patients, carrying out those standards, training other employees in the appropriate husbandry and veterinary care described by these standards, and developing educational materials for staff and clients to improve their ability to care for exotic pets. The successful candidate will have a either a degree in veterinary medicine and at least 4 years experience in a veterinary hospital with a strong exotic pet caseload or be a graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technician school with the ability to become immediately licensed in Arizona and at least 8 years experience in a veterinary hospital with a strong exotic pet caseload. Hourly wage starting at $14/hr depending on experience and abilities. Position includes health insurance, paid time off, CE budget, and other benefits.

Job: The University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a tenure or clinical track position in zoological medicine at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor
Description: The zoological medicine service is fully-equipped and composed of 2 faculty, 2 residents (rotating between UGA and the Georgia Aquarium), a dedicated technician, 1-3 Undergraduate student orderlies, and 2-5 students on each elective clinical rotation. The zoological medicine service is supported by a well-equipped hospital and by specialists in other areas including Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Behavior Medicine, and a 24-hour Emergency Service. The faculty enjoys a friendly departmental atmosphere, as well as a collegial team environment within the hospital. Requirements include the DVM or equivalent degree, and completion of an ACZM or ABVP residency. Diplomates of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (avian, exotic companion mammal, or reptile), European College of Zoological Medicine, or Royal College of Veterinary Clinical service (80% exotic pet, 20% zoo/wildlife) is provided through the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, with a weekly visit to a local zoo or nature centre. The faculty teach courses in exotic pet/zoo/wildlife/aquatic medicine in the veterinary curriculum, and provide instruction and mentorship to interns, ACZM residents, and graduate students. Faculties are expected to generate new knowledge through collaborative basic and/or clinical research, and provide continuing education for veterinarians. The University of Georgia, the Nations first chartered state-supported University, is a research-intensive land grant and sea grant University situated in the vibrant college town of Athens. Only an hour from Atlanta, Athens is a progressive small city, centred amongst beautiful surrounding landscapes.
